Where I am supposed to pick up my rental car?
When you make a reservation on our website, you will have to choose the location where you wish to pick up your car. To find your location it is enough to type the three first letters of it. Then you will see all our offices available in the particular location. As soon as you choose the place of car pick up you can click at selected car picture in order to check the exact address of the local office. When your reservation is confirmed by the local agency we sent the rental confirmation voucher to your e-mail address. On the voucher, you will find all necessary information regarding your pick up a location. Like the exact address and telephone number. In case that you cannot find the local rental car office on arrival, please call the number provided on the voucher.
What does MEET & GREAT mean?
MEET & GREAT is a service offered by the car rental company in case they do not have an office at the airport. In this case, the car rental agency does not provide the exact address of the office. MEET & GREAT means that one of the local car rental representatives will wait for you in the arrival hall holding a poster with your name. As soon as you meet the agent at the airport, he will lead you to the car or to the local office. If you do not find them or you do have any delay, please call the number from your confirmation voucher.
For how long I need to hold my drivers license in order to rent a car in Porto?
The most suppliers require a valid drivers license for at least one year. Some agencies can ask you to provide a drivers license which is valid for more, for instance, two or even three years. We always strongly recommend our clients to see the terms and conditions for selected agency and car and read them carefully. At the time of rental, your driver license needs to have the required time of validity. This is a mandatory document and if you fail to provide it, the agent refuses to give you the car due to an invalid drivers license.
Do I need a credit card in order to rent a car in Porto?
To be able to rent a car, you will need to have a valid credit card in the name of the main driver. Please be advised without a proper credit card in the name of the main driver you will be not able to rent a car. Prepaid credit cards, cash or debit cards will not be accepted. Also, you cannot use credit card form somebody else. If you arrive at the local office and you cannot present a credit card on your name, the local agent will refuse to give you the car. A proper credit card is a mandatory document for renting a car.
How long it takes to unblock the deposit?
There is a security deposit blocked on your credit card meanwhile the rental. It will be unblocked on the safe return of the car. In case of any damages caused during your car rental period, a certain amount can be discounted from your deposit. The amount of blocked security deposit may last up to 20 working days to appear back on your credit card. This process totally depends on the banks involved. If 20 days passed and you still not see the security deposit amount at your account we recommend contacting car rental agency direct.
